Before & After, & Hat

This is what I did to my bathroom today, completely redecorated- well for people who saw it, they will see a difference.

Because my biggest inspiration is designspongeonline.

The new look is warm, hopefully it will create some warmth for the upcoming months. Other than that, I have knitted a new hat for a friend.

Rss Obcession Websites

I love Rss Readers because all my feeds come into one place. For months, I have been using Google Reader. I have selected a very long list of sites to keep up with (and may not necessarily read them all). My favorite are those that inspire me daily. For example:
FFFFOUND
!  - my favorite because it’s usually postings of eye candy.

Drawn! The Illustration and Cartooning Blog - I love this dearly

My Life In A Cube - This guy is amazing, sometimes it’s like my job.

I will do a part 2 of this.

I’ve always loved illustrating so when I see really good ones I feel like I should share. So I am sharing Scott Anderson’s portfolio. His blog is here.

Design Critiques

I was checking out Veerle’s site today, because her articles show up in my google reader. She wrote on design critiquing and you should really read it here. However, I am going to highlight some things.

Everybody has an opinion and tastes differ. That’s why you can’t create a design that everyone will like.

Agreed. I am often tired of many managers who come over and end up battering your designs into nothing. This is from experience. I also especially liked that she covered that clients usually tend to change the design as well. Please read the rest at her site.

Hot portfolios

I love looking at new work because everyone is influenced by someone and I get ideas for my own work :-). Not copying :-). Looking at amazing work helps me set standards for myself. Today I am linking to some amazing work that I have seen by some peers, I will post others as I feel like writing :-D.

Portfolio by Jeff Lin

Not only do I like the hot pink, he has quality work and it’s not because I am being bias on the fact that he did go to my Alma Mater.

Portfolio of Rachel Diesel

Not only does Rachel kick ass in design, I love how she made this look almost like a print layout. I think having those skills offline and translating them online is a plus. Like Miss Diesel’s site an A+.

Matthew V Robinson

Portfolio by Matthew V Robinson

I hadn’t seen his new portfolio until Smashing Magazine placed it online but it reminded me alot of one of my first portfolio designs with the signature. So, I naturally liked it.

Erin M Snyderportfolio of Erin M Snyder

Erin always did great work at school and her portfolio is still simple. I love simplicity.

Well I shall add more later, keep looking out for it.
